NC Lottery Pick 3 Details

The Carolina Pick 3 has been active since February, 2011, with draws being made twice daily. This is a change from the set-up prior to that date, when draws were only made once, Monday through Saturday. Three balls are drawn, with one ball coming from three different sets of balls numbered 0 through 9. Player can wager by purchasing a $0.50 or $1.00 ticket, with several options available once that choice is made:

  • An “EXACT” wager requires that the numbers be drawn in the exact order displayed on the ticket.
  • An “ANY” wager will win if all the numbers are drawn in any permutation of that shown on the ticket. For example 1-6-9 on the ticket would win with 6-1-9, 9-6-1, etc.
  • A “50/50” wager costs $1.00 and consists of a combination of ANY and EXACT $0.50 wagers. The benefit here is that the player has an increased chance of winning a larger payout should the numbers come in.
  • A “COMBO” wager delivers a $1.00 “EXACT” wager that covers every possible permutation of their three chosen numbers. As such, the maximum cost of this particular ticket comes in at $6.00.

The odds of winning are 1:1,000 and the maximum amount of money that can be won on a $1.00 “EXACT” or “COMBO” bet is $500, which comes when all three numbers are matched in the order that they were played.
